It’s 2010 and there is no space odyssey, teleportation, ray guns, or jetpacks. However if I had told my dad I was going to grow and make websites he would have probably asked me, “what is a website” and I would reply, “…I have no idea” (mostly because the internet was not widely available yet). Then came our first computer, The Amiga, then a Nintendo and here I am making website and being an all around interwebs specialist. So when I started to think about what kind of gifts I wanted to give to my clients and friends I began to look to the web for an answer. I wanted something distinctly Internet. Not a nice fruit basket or a socket set but something that really said “hey this is a gift I got from Aaron that web guy.”
This is exactly what My Shopping Genie does, saves money by making price matching easy.
So I asked my self a couple of questions:
- What is a task that we all do from time to time that the web has fundamentally changed.
- How can I make that experience that much more enjoyable.
If my gift met both of these criteria I would consider it. I also wanted it to be something that I had to actually be a part of you know throw my name behind that way my customers and friends could use it with confidence. Cutting to the chase I ended up finding Shopping Genie. Weird name I know and there are a lot of things out there that might profess to do what this does, let me explain.
One of the tasks that the internet has changed drastically is shopping. I do just about all of my “fun” shopping online and every day I consider doing more of my basic shopping online, heck you can buy groceries online for heavens sake.
Two the way my shopping genie makes things easier for you is price matching. This economy though resilient has not been friendly to a lot of people and if I could give an opportunity to save money while shopping online I thought that would be a great gift.
This is exactly what My Shopping Genie does saves money by making price matching easy. The way it works, after installation when you do a search in most major search engines My Shopping Genie will show you a list of sites like Amazon, Ebay, Costco and Walmart. I think the real kicker for me was seeing it featured on CNN that kinda blew me away and confirmed that this is a legitimate tool. Oh yes, sorry about that. Getting to the point. (hehehe, point) Seeing your website and comparing it to what I’m creating is an eye opener. I have a long way to go. That said it isn’t a deterent. that said that was a very well written article, with spectacular presentation. Well done. I have a couple technical questions for you though, in the persute in bettering my own site to be. How did you create this whole thing you got here? This little comment collector? It nice.
Anyhow I don’t expect an email about that in fact don’t send one. I would rather a phone call or face to face. So we can save that. Anyway bullet point of this rant. Good job on another (in my opinion) successfully executed article, your well on your way to bigger and better things (Possibly in Dallas, maybe?).
